Okay folks, I won't be around during the coming holiday. (five days home with the family) So I just wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. Stuff yourselves, get stuffed, whatever's your fancy.

Ordinarily I like to have sushi but this year it's traditional fare with four generation of family.

Anyone out there have a non-traditional turkey day tradition?

Years ago a group of us friends used to gather for the day and those were the best holidays I can remember. Good friends eating and drinking and having fun. A little Big Chill but what the hell.

Now that I think about it I've lost touch with most of those folks. You'd think in the age of the internet that wouldn't happen. Bad on me I guess.

Anyway. Ramble over.

Have a great Thanksgiving!!

Bye Eric. Have a good long weekend. See you Monday. We can share a left over turkey (or sushi) sandwich.

Have a wonderful day Eric.............and to everyone else, Happy Thanksgiving day. :rose:

enjoy your generational gathering. much the same here only not quite so traditional...as, how traditional can you be with a lesbo fam? *grin*

Have a great Day for your holiday
Enjoy your traveling
Be safe and we would look forward to your return

This is the first year in about seven years that I've lived close enough to my family to be part of the Thanksgiving do. Everyone is coming, so I'll get to see people I haven't seen in several years. Which means some family will be meeting my little ones for the first time. :)
Going to be fun, but I may need lots of booze by the end of the week.

Sounds fun.
Have a great time Colonials!

When is it anyway? :D
We don't celebrate it this side of the pond.

Yes. The last Thursday in November also happens to be "Let's All Fellate Dr. M. Day"! I thought everyone knew by now. (Or course "Let's All Fellate R. Graham Day!" comes in October.)

No, but seriously (or not), ever since I had an Italian Thanksgiving Dinner once, I always prepare a big platter of Italian Sausage with sauteed green and red peppers and onions. It just looks so good on the table and is just the right amount of too much food.

I'm also doing everything I can to bring back the custom of serving port after dinner. Port and 2-3 good cheeses and some fruit and nuts is a good way to stay at the table and talk and nibble, and if you take the port out of the paper bag, people will be impressed with your elegance and good taste. (Don't forget the glasses though.)
