Has KISS gone to far with merchandising?

If they can sell it, then obviously, the answer is no. Which member is in it?

I vote ACE drops first,

Whaddya think?

I've never been into them therefore I would not buy that! I rarely buy that sort of merchandise anyway.

I dig KISS and all but that is waaaaaaayyyyyy out there. I like my music and my favorite artists and all but that is just a touch to much. But whatever floats your boat..........

Well, there's a guy on Howard Stern who does a great impersonation of a KISS member and he's planned a KISS-a-thon.

Once upon a time I thought I was the biggest Kiss fan in the entire world.

I'm happy to say I don't even come close to the serious devotion some people have for this band. Some of these people scare me. And just when you think you've seen everything, there'll be a Kiss funeral, complete with flames, flashpots and fireworks. The minister will give the euology, in full attire of course, and break a guitar. The entire choir will spit blood in unison, and the body of the deceased will be rigged up to breathe fire at the appropriate moment. Somebody get the Firehouse.

I get into bands for different reasons....

I was mildly interested in Kiss when they first hit the scene - but from a business perspective, not anything to do with their music.

I thought it was a great twist on the old glam scam.

Now - would I ever want to "be in Kiss" or a Kiss-like, "made-up" band?

No way.

I think any kind of make-up - or costumes - even dressing the same like the early Brit bands - is for faggots.

Not my style.

But to each their own.

Multi-purpose merchandising?

HNN's blurbs along the bottom of the screen mentioned this item, ending with, "can also be used as a cooler."!

My ex is a HUGE Kiss fan. He has collected everything from the 70's on up. I'm talking lunchboxes, wine, clothing, guitar, dolls....everything. He travels to see (or rather he did) their concerts. Goes to the conventions. He has even met Paul and Gene at a convention in California. A real fanatic, but, he is only mildly fanatic compared to some people we met at conventions.

Will he purchase that for his funeral? ABSOLUTELY! Do I care? Nope...he'll be dead and buried.

Kudos to KISS for being such a humongous marketing machine for almost 30 yrs.
