Has anyone had food poisoning?

What are the symptoms? How soon after you eat would you become sick?

Is there a fever? Just vomiting? Bad stomach cramps?

I got food poisoning from some bad mushrooms last year. Starts with vomiting. Then the runs. Then both. Then you're sitting on the toilet with a bucket between your legs. The stuff coming out of your mouth and your ass are the same. You start to think you might die. You start hoping you'll die. 12-24 hours later you're feeling better and eating nothing but bland soup. Then you're good as new.

two or three times-

no fever, vomit and diarhea- at same time--so nasty.

lasts for several hours.

begins usually 6-10 hours after eating. But this is for salmonella.

Spent three hours in ER for that once with an IV in my arm-that sucked donkey dick.

all the above and lets hope you got a comfy couch or a tv in your bedroom and its close to the can cause thats the only place you are gonna be . :nana:

um yeah what they said. dont eat anything, dont drink anything cause you know its coming right back up.

Symptoms .....cramping followed by foul smelling liquid shit. sometimes vomitting.

With me it was that night. I ate at an Indian restaurant and we were all sick that night.

Yup...Chantel has been there.

My wife and I both got food poisoning on the same night once. We both had the chicken ceaser salad at a restuarant, at about 7:30pm.....at almost exactly 2:30 am we both got sick to our stomachs at the same time.

We didnt seek medical attention and felt funky for about 24 hours.

My daughter just started vomitting out of the blue? Mentioned her stomache hurting but no fever... now, every so often she just breaks for the bathroom. No diarhea, yet.

We ate take out.

What did you eat?

Thanks... that helps more than you know... I should have thought to do that but... hindsight.

we had burgers.

Burgers, eh? If it starts to look bad, don't hesitate to go to the emergency room. My uncle nearly died from a case of E. coli from a fast food hamburger.

Improperly cooked meat = salmonella I think. Check online and/or with your doctor if in doubt.

In a young person dehydration is an issue I believe.

Pedialyte and Gastrolyte are excellent for keeping vital electrolytes up in kids who have it coming out of both ends.

Gatorade works in a pinch.

I have a fabulously colorful story involving Me, a big business reception away from home, some bad fish, too much vodka, an early rise, an airline terminal & a 737 I fairly covered in bile covered projectile vomit if you'd like to hear it sometime.

I think the stewardesses thought I was dying.

I got it back in '88 after eating at a Greek restaurant. Felt fine when I went home, but woke up sicker than hell at 2 a.m., puking all over the place and then getting diarrhea. I called for an ambulance at 4, but it was too late. I died in the hospital shortly after 5:30 a.m.
It's a night I won't forget anytime soon.

Mr PCG got food poisoning at Burger King several years ago. We'd been married about 3 weeks, and I was home unpacking boxes in our temporary digs. He was nice enough to stop on the way home and pick up food.

He was violently ill, just like the others have described. I went out to get him some gatorade, and when I came home, he was vomiting up blood. I had to try and get him dressed, nearly carry him out to the truck, lift him into it and try to find the one hospital in the town that actually offers emergency services.

The whole way there, I was trying to figure out how to call his parents and tell them that I'd killed their son.
