For some reason we never christened it, but my mid-life crisis was a car. The kid that built it for me did not believe in mufflers. I stopped to buy earplugs as I was leaving Texas with it.

So later, I was tearing ass through this industrial park that for some odd reason had a soccer field in it on the way to the kid's games. I throttled back, so as to not embarrass them or the wife when I was about 1/4 mile back.

I was surprised when I sauntered over to the field that my wife said, "That car sounds SO hot!"

My old, beat up, slightly rusty toyota 4x4 gets nice reviews from teh ladeez. The first time I met for breakfast after shift with girl from work, she came in after scanning the parking lot and said, "The black toyota yours?" When I told her it was she says, "I knew it, just felt like you." I'm known for my ability to drift a truck.

It's a (Ford) Mercury xr4ti. Built in Germany. Turbocharged etc. Cool goofy little cars they built for a couple four years in the late eighties.
