Harvard University

I recently heard someone who went there say it is very difficult to be admitted, but once in wasn't any harder academically than other universities.

I believe the minimum accepted SAT score is 2200.

mike, you remind me of a little kid. they haven't "lived" and learned, so they ask a lot of stupid questions.

and what exactly does that mean? missing a part of your brain? on a cane? can't see? can't hear? psycho?

Plenty of people go to Harvard and arent students. They hangout to meet the elites. Theyre Gofers and Whores and Valets. Harvard is where you go to meet the right people. There's no other reason to be there.

There are harder universities than Harvard, like MIT and Stanford.

Mike- if you have learning disabilities and developmental delays, its sometimes very hard to really assess intelligence.
Intelligence isn't everything either, I know a couple people who have below-average intelligence, went to college and are doing quite well in life. The colleges were state colleges and not private ivy league universities or the level of MIT/Stanford, but they did okay and graduated. Both do IT support for a living.

I doubt anyone with an IQ below 115 could make it through a university.

Supposedly only a 1/3 of the population has an IQ above 115, and I suspect more than 1/3 of the population makes it through college/university, so I think you are incorrect here. You could start with a junior college, get an AA degree and see how you do...

Yup, been there. Graduated elsewhere, still a good school.

The smartest person I know went to a backwater state school in New Hampshire. The most priveleged person I know (his girlfriend's father was president of Ecuador) was my roommate at Harvard.

Umm...more Nobel Prize winners in science have been associated with Columbia than anywhere else, including Harvard.

I often wonder what people think IQ is.

What it is, is a test score from a test that measures language, math, and linear thought. Theyre just what you need if you lose your calculator or need someone to organize your yard sale.
