Am I the only one here who loves Harry Turtledove's sci-fi/parallel world stuff? I'm particularly fond of his How Few Remain, The Great War,American Empire, Return Engagement, The Guns of The South. These are all set in alternate universes where the South was victorious in the Civil War. I think that steamy stories set in those same universes, but with some entirely original characters might be great. Anyone else get into that sort of thing?

Personally, I like the Worldwar books better.

BTW, you realize that you've given the impression that each of those books is set in a different universe?

OOPS....didn't mean to say that...just that the Guns of the South was separate from the other series....

....Worldwar has possibilities too....especially the nudity fad toward the end

Greetings

My sword and sorcery story Blood and Iron involves travel into a alt universe by my protagionist.

For your idea, use the setting and just add your own cast or even just the idea of a victory by the south as a jump off point.

I like the freedom of the alternate universe spurs the imagination

Enjoy the journey
