Harry Belafonte

Good ol' Harry practicing his rights to free speech. Never call him shy about anything anymore huh?

Hey, at least he didn't actually use the phrase he was alluding to. lol

"This was never meant to be a personal attack on Colin Powell's character," he said. "What it was meant to be was an attack on policy, and the reference, the metaphor used about slavery is part of my personal feeling that plantations exist all over America." - Harry Belafonte

It is time that a man of great character, namely, Colin Powell step forward as a voice of reason. Belafonte is right; his earliier comments were out of sync with the White House. This man could be one of the most respected voices of our time. He needs to step up and lead the nation at a time when it is clear to almost everyone that GWB has lost his way. The Sec of State can be a position of incredible influence. We have reached a point where Bush could not fire him, he needs to break lock step with the other droids in the White House that are leading this nation to war.

You may want to actually read the article before you spout off...
