Actual historical harems, or just harem situations, where one guy has multiple girls? If the latter, To Love-Ru is a good manga and anime for you, I'd wager. If you're more interested in historical harems, then you're probably going to be disappointed. Turns out not many women enjoy being kidnapped and turned into sex slaves who are almost never visited and who have to compete constantly with other women for the slight chance of getting some power and prestige.
