Let me just start off by saying hello to all, and apologize in advance as I just joined today. I am so thankful to find this place and be able to read posts from people who seem so like minded. I feel alone at times, aside from my wonderful Dom. It is so hard to find people who are into the bdsm lifestyle. I agree it's not for everyone. Maybe it's the fear they will pull back because they will not understand. A few of them are into the kinkier side of sex. But to me it is so much more. I know they would not understand. I am so truly happy and blessed to have found my Dom. And I would love nothing more than to talk to my closest friends about our lifestyle, and the reason for my new found happiness. I just don't want to lose a friend because she will not understand and think I'm completely nuts. Am I the only one that has these issues? Is it just me being stuck inside my own head? Help!

I'm not sure what there is to discuss, besides generic happy relationship stuff, or we went to a burlesque show in October, or that he brings me coffee in bed [when he's in town]. My best friend of 20 years (who was the first one to point out I was submissive/kinky) and I don't discuss details of my relationship beyond that.

If you're looking to expand your social circle, try getting on Fetlife.com and looking through the events tab - it should show you everything that's going on in your area - workshops, munches, parties, etc.

I'm not in bdsm, but I like it here. I think there are some normal, everyday folks here that like to fantasize about sex and talk and write about. It's fun to dream.
In real life I'm a balding guy with glasses and pretty serious.

Ditto on Fetlife for finding chatty kinky community to gab with. Also, stay here as it's truly packed full of so many beautiful folks.
