The shortest day of the year has come, now the days starts getting longer again!
:)

For those of us living in the North, it is a day to notice.

Yule is the old Germanic/Norse word for midwinter and the celebration of it. I guess the early Christians placed Xmas at the same time, knowing full well, that the potential new members would hate to pay with the best party of the year for converting.

I'll light a bonfire tonight and improvise a proper fertility rite with Lady C.
:D

As the wheel turns back towards the light, hoping for better times for all of my fellow pagans and Litsters. :rose:

After a couple of days up in pitch black north the 5.5 hours of daylight we get here seems like a lot. :)

But yeah, I'm totally ready for the days to get longer again.

The fire is burning in the yard. I'd better log off and start the fertility rites!
:D

I am pro winter solstice! :cattail:

And I'd far rather have spent the evening in fertility rites than goose wrestling. Just saying.

Hey! Welcome back! :)

I did a few special things for Solstice...
My flowers, and I, are so happy the days will lengthen again!

11 days til the New Year can't go fast enough! I am absolutely DONE with 2015. Hurry back sun, hurry back sanity! :D

Venison pie tonight, looking forward to maybe just about being able to slow down in the next couple of days. *waits for the gods to mess that up as per usual*

Happy solstice. :)
