Happy & solemn Anzac Day

You may appreciate Sabaton's cover of Motorhead's 1916.
Very powerful video,

But the band played Waltzing Matilda
When we stopped to bury our slain
We buried ours, and the Turks buried theirs
Then we started all over again
A very powerful & moving song. Being in the States we tend to forget about other countries & their sacrifices, especially from more then a 100 years ago. Thanks for posting fir us that are aware. Slainte

It's the least I can do. :)

Why thanks. I can’t help but wonder if your family history has some connection with that period in history. I believe 99 out of a 100 people ( in the US) wouldn’t know that day from tomorrow’s 78 th Anniversary of VE-Day.

ANZAC Day to some is just another public holiday - most of us don't work. (I mean - you have different levels of Public Holiday here in Oz - some it's really just "office" staff who don't work, but your retail and service staff still tend to work... at least some of them... But ANZAC Day, lots of businesses stay closed all day, as indeed is the intention - for us to remember the fallen, not go shopping or dining.

I don't have any Gallipoli ANZACs in my blood, but both my grandfathers fought in WWII. I remember them every ANZAC Day. I doubt I could have done what they did.

Lest We Forget.
