A properly functioning government doesn't bankrupt or bankroll its constituency. Our government is out of control, 37 trillion in debt.

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

Somewhere between those quotation marks we've lost our way.

Social programs like public education, roads, fire and police is articulated in the preamble as *promote the general welfare* much of which is funded at the state level.

We don't hate poor people, just the opposite, we care more about our poor that we want scammers off so as to be able to provide for our poor and less fortunate.

Wanting a functioning safety net doesn't mean supporting scammers, it means recognizing that poverty and hardship aren’t moral failings. Medicaid fraud (ironic because your leader is a whole fraud) is very rare and it's already punishable. What’s worse is using a few bad apples to justify stripping support from millions who genuinely need it.

No shit debt is real, but blaming Medicaid while giving tax breaks to billionaires and letting corporations offshore profits is misdirected outrage. You can't scream about $37 trillion debt and then defend trillion-dollar wars, bank bailouts and all those tax loopholes.

Nor was our social security/medicare safety net intended to benefit non citizens.

If someone wants the benefits of American life, they need to apply for admittance and citizenship. If they don't want to do that, yet pine for the same benefits, they need to change their country's rules/laws from the shitholes they are, to something like ours.
