I hadn't visited my folks since Thanksgiving. A terrible thing to say, I'm sure, but life sometimes gets hectic. Still, I was determined to make a visit on this Sunday, it being Mother's Day and all. A call a week or so ago guaranteed they would be "having a quiet day off at home," so they would be there for this surprise.
