Aw Shucks!

I haven't had the time to be here at all lately. I went back to school to finish up that English degree I started in 1991 and my course load has been incredibly heavy this first semester (trial by fire, I suppose). Additionally, my professional life has gone to shit as I have become the target of a mini-witch-hunt (and not the Halloween-y kind) and I may be changing professions to keep my babies' mama out of the court system. My stress load has been unbelievable and I've been working my way through bouts of the flu and a few serious migraines.

All of that to say - Sorry I haven't been around. I've missed you all seriously, but have had to curtail almost all of my "fun activities," just ask Soph! It's crazy. Since Lit definitely qualifies as a fun activities, you all got pared back as I've tried to find my way.

Sophie - Thank you so much for starting this thread for my birthday. As you know, I've been working hard to try to focus on the good things in my life and not get bogged down in the drudgery and ugliness that seems to be following me these days. I appreciate this more than I can say!

And thanks to everyone who has wished me a happy birthday. I'm 34 today. Young - practically a baby. Glad that I have so much life ahead of me and so many great people to share it with. I'll be checking back in all day to continue with the thank you-s!
