Happy Fucking Valentine's Day

My honey and I normally don't celebrate v-day. We might rent a movie, or something, but we don't really go all out. He's not a "hallmark holiday" kinda guy, and frankly, I've been too busy planning our wedding, volunteering, working, and going on consults, lately, to be bothered with it.

I was offered an opera ticket to see Puccini's Madama Butterfly tonight, with honey's mom. I was thrilled to accept. Honey was thrilled that he'd get to watch the hockey game tonight. It was all good.

And then last night, I got violently ill. Maybe it's food poisoning, maybe it's that we upped the dosage on my allergy shots, and I could still be reacting (my arms are still quite swollen at the injection sites), who knows. I woke up this morning, feeling like ass, and went to work.

Where I spent the morning running to the bathroom, still quite violently sick.

I've left work for the day. I've cancelled the opera for tonight. Which pisses me the fuck off.

So tonight, I'm going to be at home, in PJs, trying to ignore a hockey game, while running to the washroom, sick.... when I could have been at the opera.






At least I get to spend it with my sweetie.
