To all the men in my life who are, will be, or want to be fathers...this is for you!!!!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO YOU

Hope you have a great day!!

Had a great day . . .

Thanks Sammyjo. My daughter and her husband had me over for brunch. Omelettes, steak, waffles with fresh sliced strawberries, OJ and lemon meringue pie for desert.

I overdid it a bit so only had one meal today but it was a fabulous one.

Thanks again, Sammyjo.

Dang... with a meal like that you only need one... Can I come over next week?
Oh, you said daughter. Do you cook like that too? Yummm.
and here I sit with a stale bag of fritos and ripped elastic in my underwear.

Happy Father's Day to you daddies out there. You're so so so important to your children. Ask anyone out there who doesn't have a dad or whose dad doesn't spend time with them.

Thank you Sammyjo for bringing up the subject and Whispersecret for your comments. I am a proud father of two beautiful girls and I spent all day with them yesterday and the oldest learned to ride her bike with no training wheels! A big event! My children are lucky, they have two loving and devoted parents. Although my grandfather helped out when he could, my mother had to be both mother and father to me and I did not always make that easy for her. I am trying to make it up to her by living my life in a manner in which she can now be proud of me.

Thanks again for the thoughts!

I didn't even know it was fathers day until I read this thread, my Son and Daughter never got in touch. Quite sad really, but that's what happens when you get divorced, you lose touch.

I hope the other fathers on this board faired better than me, and wish you all the best.

Carl.

Different Holidays?

I'm not sure, but I think Father's Day and Mother's Day are on different dates on your side of the pond than they are on ours. (If they even exist.)

That's sometimes confusing in an international forum like this.

WH, I think Mother's day is different but Father's day is the same at least I hope it is, I called him up especially. They definately exist though.

Carl, I am so sorry about that, my parents are divorced too and have kids other than me, I was the only one who remembered.

Carl, I too am sorry, but don't let your kids off so easily. They were remiss, plain and simple. I don't care if they live on the Mir space station, they should have called you or at least sent a card. If you were a murderer or something reprehensible like that, I could understand if they didn't want to contact you. But you're not, and they should have.

So a special Father's Day greeting to you, my friend. <hugs you> I hope your kids feel guilty for hurting your feelings.

Of course, if Father's Day is a different date in the U.K, then...never mind!

Fathers day for us in OZ is first sunday in Sept and Mothers day is the second sunday in May

Is It Because of Hallmark?

Do you think they chose the second Sunday in June for American Father's Day just so they could use that obnoxious little phrase, "Dads and Grads"???

Life sucked, then I found Literotica.

Dear Whisper,

thank you for that kind response, it made me feel better, and I will remind them when they get in touch again.

Thanks also to crya, I'm glad you remembered.

Carl.

Yes, WS...but he IS a regular here...LOL :D

Yes, and they should be shot, just as Merelan said.

Well, I am truly blessed to have my dad. He was the first person to know I was pregnant all those years ago. And he gave me great advice. To be honest, I think he's extremely happy that I didn't follow through with the first option we discussed. He is really proud of his granddaughter...and he spoils her rotten. :D
