Happy Birthday, shereads!

Eee!

What a lovely assortment of birthday greetings, prodigal-Litster returns, threats of bondage, and even a limerick.

I am so proud.

Thank you! I am inspired to add one more birthday limerick to this thread; one can never have too many (limericks).

Shereads Moves North and Winds Up in the South

A hurricane picked up a harlot
And carried her halfway to Charlotte
Now she’s stuck in Savannah
It’s far from Havana
And everyone talks like Miss Scarlet.

Shereads Moves North and Winds Up in the South

A hurricane picked up a harlot
And carried her halfway to Charlotte
Now she’s stuck in Savannah
It’s far from Havana
And everyone talks like Miss Scarlet.

'tis a warm breeze that blows from Havana
It reaches right up to Savannah
Miss Scarlet was right
the breeze blows all night
I hope you found your Nirvana.

Happy Birfd'y :rose:

Ah crap, I missed the party. Happy belated!

Oh. My. God.

I missed Sher's birthday.

*shuffles, crying, to hurl self off ledge into canyon teeming with rabid, flesh-eating hamsters*

Happy Birthday, you harlot-y biznitch. You are an amazing person and a life without you in it would be worse than the hamstering I am about to inflict upon myself. ;)

Love you big.

As the first I recall, on this forum, to competently cross swords with me, I wish you a long and prosperous life, (thanks Spock), and it was "Pinafore", and not, "Pirates of Penzance", I still watch reruns of "The Left Wing", the writing is just so damned good!

:rose:

Happy belated...

BLUEY'S BACK!

Let the parades begin:

:nana: :nana: :nana:

Okay, then, fruit dancing. Let the fruit dancing begin.

Where have you been, Blue One?

In AH is a girl named shereads
Jiminy God is her beloved steed
If you take away the stories
She might become as crazy as scouries
Cos on porn stories she usually feeds

Jiminy God! I had nearly forgotten the Liberal Dollop, later rebaptised Jiminy God in honor of some Republican scandal involving a bathroom stall, an abortive romance, and the unprecedented "wide stance" legal defense. Beloved steed indeed! Give that galloping dollop a bowl of oats! (I keep oats on the buffet in case Shanglan trots in.)

Actually, (sorry Rumple) I did once love a steed: Major John Steed, he of the twinkling eyes, rapier wit and playfully phallic umbrella; partner to Mrs. Peel, on the BBC series "The Avengers."

I got my first wide-eyed, squirming-in-my-chair Southern Baptist adolescent look at black leather bondage erotica, courtesy of The Avengers, which somehow snuck under the door of American TV via the ABC network. As I recall, Steed's partner, played by young Diana Rigg, was working undercover in a Victorian-styled kinky sex club and was forced to appear in bondage gear: black leather tight-laced corset, fishnet stockings, over-the-knee boots with stiletto heels, and of course a boa. NOT a feather boa, mind you, but a boa constrictor, draped across Rigg's shoulders and slithering down her decoulletage, to the cheers and catcalls of leering Doms.

Oh! Oh, my.

I was watching this in the family room of my oh-so-conservative family home, during our years in the most buckled-down hole on the entire Bible Belt. Blessedly, I was the only person in the family room the night of that eye-opening Avengers episode. I couldn't have borne to have my parents witness my reaction: blushing, squirming, unblinking fascination. In a word, "Eee!"

I had been a fan of the series since it first came to America, but that night in particular it all came together: the leather, the medieval chastity belts, the whips and chains and dungeons...and the way Steed and Mrs. Peel reacted to all the wickedness with evident enjoyment, as if they might rather join these nasty games than arrest the evildoers.
"Hmm," thought my sexually ignorant adolescent self....Might there be more than teasing banter between Steed and Mrs. Peel, and have I been too clueless to see it? And then: "Is it possible that the name 'Steed' has a sexual meaning? Does Mrs. Peel get on Steed and...?? Does she strike Steed with a riding crop before she - before they....??" My young self couldn't finish that last thought, because she had no notion of what happens after the titillation stops and the Mysterious Activities begin.

We didn't speak of such things in my Southern Baptist world. But after the Whips-and-Leather episode of The Avengers, I thought about little else.

:D

--------------------------

Where were we? Oh yes. You were wishing me a happy birthday. And delivering an unexpected gift: a reminder of the reason I'm here.

Here, and in Chicago very soon. To further my study of Mysterious Activities.

Thank you, thank you.

Omg, I made your fruit dance?! That is Teh Aweshomeness. So are you. Good job being born. I highly approve of that event.

I have been hither and thither. Stalking Neko Case, moving, being a major wuss about stuff, going to the gym and forgetting my sneakers and then working out in socked feet :)D). The usual. Lovely to see you.

(I keep oats on the buffet in case Shanglan trots in.)
As everyone should!

I don't know this person, but I'll wish them Happy Birthday anyway. It seems the thing to do.

Had a birthday myself five days ago. Big 3-0. It was great. Not mentioned here, but that's okay. This is just a message board.

Just a message board, yes, but the price is right and there's a buffet.

Happy birthday, Ach.

I've been hither and yon, but I have never been to thither. What's it like there?
