Hey Jen :D

It's your Bday and you're not even here. :( I hope you're having the time of your life.

Even though you're not here I couldn't let your Birthday pass without acknowledging the wonderful person you are.

In the short I've known you I've grown to really appreciate you and now the whole world knows about it. :p

Happy Birthday Jen, I hope you'll get everything you wish for and more. :rose:

Happy Birthday, Jen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since I can't figure out how to insert a picture ... you'll have to settle for big purple birthday wishes!

Hope you're having a wonderful time. :rose:

Hey Lurker -- you are gone and not even here to see these but anywho

Happy Birthday sweetie

Happy after-the-fact birthday!

I'd have baked you a cake, but...

Neither of us was here;
I don't know how to bake;
The firewall would have scraped off all the icing.

Awwwww, I got me a birthday thread without even being here! Thank you guys so much. I've never had a birthday thread before, I'm excited! :D

 :rose:  :rose:

This is my first very official post back from Turkey, by the way, so hey everyone! *waves and hugs* It's lovely to be back with you guys. I missed you so much.

It's six thirty in the morning, but to me it is two thirty in the afternoon... so I am pretty active right now, not able to go back to sleep and all. Damn jetlag. I needed sleep badly though, before I went to sleep last night, I was going on 4 hours of quality sleep in the last 48 hours.

Did anyone here about the massive fire that broke out at Istanbul Airport yesterday? It happened just a few minutes after we were in the air. I'm extremely glad that there were no casualties, and also that I wasn't stuck in Istanbul for another day or so. Could have happened easily if they had shut down the airport.

Happy Birthday FieryJen
Hope you had a great birthday,
Glad you are back safe.

Hugo

Thank you :) It has been a while, but I'll still take the happy birthday wishes with open arms :)

I did get a birthday cake, by the way. My professor was kind enough to organize it, and the hotel people provided candles and such. That was nice :) My parents called as well. That made me happy.

Being hot is one thing...but igniting an entire airport?
Welcome back!

Like you, still jet-lagged and trying to reset my internal clock. It's not supposed to happen on south-north flights, but it does.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh you need to come and peek -- we are teasing Morphious right now ;)

And hopefully planning a trip out that way to see Syn :nana:

Oh and yeah i heard about that and was thinking about you -- not knowing you exact itenerary was kinda scary

BUT you are safe and sound and home and that is what matters

Thank you... I missed you too :) How have you been?

I'm much better now that you are back ...

Oddly enough, I saw the articles about the fire at the airport and it made me wonder when you were due back. You are very lucky to have been in a plane that had already left ....

Did you have a good time digging about in the ruins? Did you miss us? Did you miss me? Most importantly ... did you bring me back a present? :nana:

Hey, there you are :) *hugs* I was hoping you would show up soon :D

I had a great trip, overall. It had its ups and downs, of course, but it was a memorable experience, and in a positive way. Tons of fun, although I am very glad to be back.

Oooh, I wish I could go see Syn :p Thank you very much for all the good wishes and everything. :rose: We didn't even hear about the fact that there had been a fire until long after we landed in Chicago. Kind of scary as well, really.

Depends on what you mean by present, really :) You get a  at any rate.

I could try and pour some of the Raki I got into my internet cord, if you wait with your mouth open on the other end, you may be able to enjoy every drop of it. :D

Otherwise, I just have some pictures I am planning on sharing with you guys once I have my picture chaos all figured out. I am currently not using my own computer - hence the slow replies - and I am planning on buying a brand-spanking new one (a desktop, not a laptop - yay!) this afternoon. Then I'll probably ghost all my files once I figure out how that works, and then I can share. I took over 2000 pictures, and I have to go through them all anyway because I'll only share the best ones with my classmates. I do not want them to have to go through all kinds of craptastic pictures before they find any good ones, with the number I took.

Digging about in the ruins was a lot of fun. We found a bunch of stuff too, some ruins that were already excavated hadn't been searched very well, and we found coins, bracelets (they were so pretty, I wanted one), big shards from glass containers and of course a million pottery shards (they lay around everywhere, especially at unexcavated sites). They were really fascinating, but of course we had to turn them in. It is illegal to take any kind of antiquities from Turkey, punishable by jail time, but of course, that didn't stop some of my classmates. Especially the ones with big boobs and padded bras.

And yes, I missed all of you terribly, especially you and LadyC and CC and Kate and Rozez and everyone else.
