so idea is older guy in wheelchair, he's lived, born that way, has a nice house, works from home, hates having someone take care of him, trying to be independent as much as possible

House helps as it has all the things he needs to cook, get around, bath, and such.
Just one problem, he can't find a washer that he can easily load and unload. so he takes his clothes to a proffessional cleaner and pays for it.

He has a young guy (collegiate) take care of the lawn, and other chores.

Someone new moves in next door and is curious about the handicapped vehicle, seeing only the hot young guy in his yard. She eventually hires the young stud to take care of her lawn (maybe some flirting handicapped guy is jealous but encourages young guy to flirt back as he has a good view of her bedroom)

She may or may not fuck the young guy haven't decided but a certain amount of cyrano debergerac type thing going on.

Handicap guy is suddenly having more spontaneous erections, in bathtub, first thing in morning, and stronger ones when he watches her.

haven't quite decided where it goes from there, so it's still idea.


Other one is a guy who is reliant on help to bath, is still working on building his upper body strenght perhaps in early 20's never really had sex, and his sweet busty nurse who baths him.

and an excellent idea it is too. I was intrigued just reading your idea, it could even become some kind of Hitchcock rear window(?) thing.

Be prepared for a very wide range of comments on such a story. I did one and posters claiming they were handicapped thanked me and others claimed I should leave that concept locked up and out of sight and that I was preying on the handicapped. A publisher bought the story after reading it on this site, though, and another site asked me to write for them, indexing that story--so it can be a winning idea overall.

Agree on the blind/done to death thing. I tried to think of a new wrinkle on that. Blind falling for someone much older (no, probably done more than the falling for someone much younger--which doesn't seem to have any hook to it anyway). Blind falling for same sex? No, pretty obvious too. Blind falling for nanny goat? possibilities, but taboo on this site, as would be blind falling for a corpse.

About the only possibility seems to be blind falling for someone mistakenly assumed to be sighted. Probably also done, though.

Just a few things. Front loading washers are fairly easy to use when you are in a chair. If a person has upper body strength and control enough to wheel themselves, they will already be fairly strong there.
Bathtubs???? When I was in a chair I never saw a bath tub I could use even at therapy. Showers with sliding seats were nice, at home I use a shower stool and hand held shower.
Things that I could have used help with were vacuum cleaning, lawn work, gardening, stupid doors that open flat against the wall, changing ceiling fixture light bulbs, and cleaning my guinea pigs cage. Just because you are in a chair doesn't mean you need help from someone to take care of you esp if you were born that way.

I would suggest going to your local museum or somewhere that they provide manual wheelchairs and try them out. Go around the place, on and off elevators, up and down any ramps, in and out of the bathrooms and handicap stalls, get some food at the cafe especially some liquid and wheel yourself to a table, transfer yourself from the wheel chair to a regular chair without using you legs. If you have some weightlifting gloves I would suggest wearing them unless your palms are already calloused. I wish architects would do this! At least now Michael Graves knows how it is.

Oh and if you go somewhere crowded some times people don't notice you and fall into your lap, usually guys...

second idea was more loosely based figured he's young and for whatever reason hasn't developed upper body strength still needs help....no to the bath tub no idea what i was thinking there.

Actually the bath-tub/shower idea is probably a good place to explore, especially if he needs help to wash. Maybe some homoerotic feelings whilst being washed or either of the two getting an erection in the process.

I'm not sure what you want out of this string. If you have a story idea, why not just write it and see where it goes? The only problem I see with the story idea you give in your original thread is that this isn't (yet) a plotline about someone deciding to have sex with a person handicapped in any way (or vice versa--a wheelchair-bound person becoming comfortable with having unfettered sex with someone not handicapped). You mention nonhandicapped people maybe having sex with each other with an element of handicap misunderstanding involved. And you start to talk about the wheelchair-bound character starting to want to have sex. But the "hook" problem with erotica involving a handicapped person is to overcome the handicap element in the minds of both (or all) involved in the coupling. I don't see you get this far in your original posting.

It's not the physical "possibilities" that is the hump to get over in such stories--it's the genuine acceptance (of the reader too; not just of the characters because you say they like it) and a hot carry through that you need to pin down.

Up the line, I said I had such a story here at Lit. ("A Gift?") that went the whole nine yards on reluctance/acceptance/successful carry through--and that has received a favorable reception on doing that. (The question mark in the title was because I wasn't at all sure what I was trying to do would work--but I was genuinely trying to get it right.) It's a Gay Male one, but it could just as easily been a straight one using the identical situation and carry through with a straight couple.

Beyond that, think you need either to go ahead and write and post something or be more explicit in what's keeping you from doing that.

I don't know about this paralysis thing, although I have large experience with quadriplegia.

If erotic (mental) stimulus doesn't produce an erection (nipple hardening, whatever) isn't the mechanism likely to be unusable. I would imagine that sexual 'completion' or readiness has some kind of intrinsic feedback system that has an initial impetus that sustains itself with a minimum of exterior input.

If I can simplify this to mental arousal leads to physical arousal feeds back to mental and so on. If there is no physical component, does the system still work?

We ended up talking in her car for an hour parked in front of the house, and she asked if I wanted to see a movie with her. I said "Sure" and things went from there.

The movie went well, and we ended up talking some more, and we ended up petting down by the beach before she dropped me at home.

After that, I visited her at work (in her Moms store), and went to another movie.

We ran into one another one night when I went with a friend to a party that was hosted by her best friend, and while we chatted, her gf ended up talking to my friend most of the night. She then asked me if I wanted to go with her to visit with her sister who lived in the valley for a few days.
