Handcuffs or Hemp Rope?

Okay, if you had your choice of handcuffs or hemp rope, what would you choose and why? This would be to bind any part of your body.

Leather restraints. Because I can't tie knots to save myself, and handcuffs are okay for short term, but need to keep checking them for circulation being cut off.

I still want to try some of that bondage tape though...

For around the house, I too prefer leather wrist cuffs that buckle. For going out when I want to be more discreet, chain bracelets linked together.

Given the choice of hemp rope or handcuffs, I chose the rope, as it is much more versatile than handcuffs.

Well, I voted for cuffs. Why? I'm thinking of ease of use and speed.

Ease of use.
Cuffs are very quick. I love the click of the metal, as it closes around my victim's wrists. No nonsense, ready to go, and no trouble with undoing last night's knots.

Speed.
I've been to handcuff training and know how to cuff someone...professionally. Give me any shit, and you go down in the dirt, baby. Again, that nice satisfying click of the metal, and you are mine.

Now, there is nothing wrong with rope. This thread is misleading, because both cuffs and rope have their place. There is no either/or, in my book. It's like asking which you would rather do...breathe in, or breathe out. I like doing both.

Rope tends to leave pretty marks, where cuffs leave marks in presure areas, only. Cuffs only work on wrists or ankles, while a good length of rope will go a long way to keeping someone in a very lewd position.

I can go either way, on this, but I will still stick with handcuffs. My professional training must be coming through. As someone already said...you can chew your way out of rope. Let's see you do that with a set of metal handcuffs, sweetie.

seems like it'd depend on what you're doing. Remember the old saw about "they hung him and they gasp! used a new rope!" Seems like if you weren't really roleplaying and wanted maximum ouch for your buck, a nice new prickly hemp rope would do the trick.
