It depends what you are in the middle of. If it is a MFM sandwich, quite a lot.

If it is a Lit competition - more views, votes, PCs (and trolls) than a normal submission.

Perhaps you will have found a few new fans.

It occurs to me that what every AH man, woman, indeterminate, and/or combination of ingrediants writer needs is an official Literotica Contest Troll. Maybe some of the folks with artistic talent might have some ideas. Just as a stimulate to creative thinking, here's one example.

When is the voting going to end Og? Today is the first time mine has been static in numbers since first posted. The sweep changed it one vote and that was the last change and that was early this morning.

In Laurel's words from the sticky at the top of the AH:

You may begin submitting your entries on October 1. The last day to submit contest entries is October 22. We will announce the 3 winners on October 29.

The voting ends when Laurel says it ends. What time? I don't know.

The Last Place (tm) Contest is decided after the results of the main contest are known by those destined for infamy declaring their rating and vote numbers as at October 29.

Somethings gone amiss. One of mine is high on the Top List after a troll sweep. Since I'm not eligible for the main contest it might be embarrassing if I were to be placed. Maybe the trolls have decided to leave me alone?

I had read Larrel's blurb. Thought you might know more. Troll sweep raised my score a whole .01. I'm still hoplessly going to be in the middle. But in all honesty for a story I got in just under the wire, in my first contest, I pretty pleased in general. If they went by catagory, I might stand a chance. It has still exceeded all of my other stories put together.

I THINK the result is calculated when Laurel can get round to doing it.

The troll sweep did something weird to the rating on one of my stories. It went from being not-H to being 4.8ish. That I can't understand.

The advice? Whether it was worth the lacerated feelings that trolls and anonymous cause? Don't blame me if you have more readers and some of them are idiots.

This has been a record-setting contest in terms of entries, and the quality of most of them. What will Valentine's Day 2006 be like? 300 entries?

Og, wouldn't it be (fill in the blank) if you had stories finish in contention for both contests when you're eligible for neither.

Hugo, I'd though a sweep might give my score, which dropped .06 over the last weeks, an uptick. But it hasn't budged.

It's extremely unofficial, just something Oggbashan cooked up. Whatever serious story has the lowest score is recognized as the winner of the last place award. There is no prize of any kind involved but, since I am clearly not going to win anything, I would take a certain perverse pleasure in having the lowest score of anybody who was a serious entrant. Other people feel the same way.

Everybody would, of course, rather win a prize, because of the money and because of the recognition.

Hey DG, Good Morning.
For myself, as I said: I was pleased with the story I submitted's showing. Yes I was considering between the top and the bottom was middle. Sure it's nice to win anything, but I was not even originally going to enter. First contest. Honestly just trying to learn and decifer the system. Although I would suspect that we we still in school, back in them olden days, that the scoring would definately create a'bell curve' with a definate slant toward 4+ numbers.
