Halloween Support Thread

I will make a strong effort to read at least one by every AH menber, starting with the shorter ones. I have almost completed that. Then I will ty to read second, third, etc. stories by AH members. After that, I will go around reading what looks interesting by those who are not AH reglars. Of course, I don't know just who is a regular here and who isn't.

It's like on 'Cheers', where everybody knows your name.

I'd forgotten that I can go to this thread or others, click on the number of posts and get a list of everybody who has posted here and the number of times.

I sometimes go to other forums (NOT GH) and I want to be able to distinguish between the people who post there and those who post here. Not that I have anything against the other forums but I want to put first things first. :)

Whilst it would be very difficult to spot it, it might help if my entry were actually included on the Comp page

Neon,

Odds are it will be there tomorrow. There seems to be about a one-day lag between first showing up on the New thread and appearing on the contest list.

Neon's story.....

I might add that Neon's story is a must read, as difficult as it is to take in. I had to read it a few times before the whole thing came together. It has a quality similar to my story The Rainbow, and I wonder if Neon had read that one in the past? Hmmmm....

I try

to be different.

My muses were bothering me with too many plot ideas so I cheated.

My next entry is fifteen fifty-word Halloween stories in a story called 'Fifteen by Fifty'.

Thanks Sack.

I'd not read The Rainbow, thank you for directing me there. Inevitable similarities, yours is the easier read, so I'm not expecting much through the Comp, the reward was in the writing. ;)

Thanks, Neon

For the nice comment on The Rainbow. There are some poems by Saldne submitted in the last couple of days that also have this "spiritual" quality.

127! Sweet mother of pearl. That's the most I can remember ever entering a Lit contest. Maybe not. But with a week to go before the deadline for enteries, it'll be interesting to see the final number.

It seemed like an awful lot more than usual. It used to be a great way to get your stories a lot of reads, but I can't imagine that still being the case with this contest. Add that to the growing number of 1/2 page chapters of some endless stories that seem to be put up everyday and it seems like a lot of stories must be getting lost in the flow, which makes it just as well that mine is laying in pending land, where it will stay until next year.

Good luck to all who are in the mix. :catroar:

I've still got loads more views, votes and PC's than on a non-competition story. I can't believe there are so many entries though!

What do people think to the chapters thing? I did it last time, and I won't do it again, as it wasn't at all successful for me*L*

Personally I don't agree with it. Posting more than one story strikes me as being against the spirit of the competition, consequently I will only read and vote on one story per entrant, if you have posted more than one and have one specific story you want me to read, let me know. I've only read about 20 so far.

Edit to add: That should guarantee getting the number of hits up and the vote down :D

I'm not sure on multiple entries, I think thats up to the author but I do think writing more than one actually decreases yourchance of winning *L*

No, really, if someone reads one of yours and isn't a fan of your style either they'll not read the others or they'll go tothe other stories with a negative in their mind and are more likely to vote harshly.

Which works great if you want last place :D

I'll stick to one entry in future, I think, though don't hold me to it :D

Yep. the G-man did good.

Morning, fellow lusters after last place.

I just did a pre-first-cup-of-coffee count and tallied 133 entrants.

Good morning, All. I'm still drinking my morning coffee. Rumps, my main story, "The Last Piece of Ass", stands at 4.14  with fifty votes. It hasn't moved much for a few days and nefver was more that about 4.20. My other story, I don't consider a serious entry. :D
