Nice drawings, D-G. You're as good as that guy who vanished a while back. What was his name? Hippoman? Aligatordude? Whatever. Some sort of name like that.

I haven't given up just yet. Well, I gave up on that one story (on finishing it in time, I mean), but I have another idea I may just pursue.

Can you take any more?

Even though I'm not eligible and already have four entries, my muses keep pushing ideas into my head for the Halloween contest.

I am trying to tell them that four is already too many.

They won't listen.

Can Literotica take any more og entries?

Oh great Og...there is always room for more from you.

Not sure I can. LOL
I'm having trouble reading all entries, so I stick to one entry per person to start with.

I can only pray Laurel is forgetting to sweep my votes.
The alternative is a really bad story.

That was one reason why I started the Last Place contest. There were good stories that were losing out because more popular stories were getting higher ratings.

The Last Place contest lets us discuss the stories we like that for some reason are not getting votes. They may be too literate, too well-written, too much of a story and not enough sex, or any number of other reasons that account for their lower rating.

We have discussed the voting system many times. It isn't perfect but is better than no system at all.

Most of us will end up, in every competition, with ordinary ratings that are neither good or bad. That's statistics. The extremes can contend for the prizes at the top and the AH acclaim for the worst rated.

What appears to be true, as far as my reading of recent competitions goes, is that the standard of all entries is getting better. What might have been good enough to win two years ago will now be in the middle. The AH is partly to blame for the improvement because we encourage entries and discuss techniques. Other fora on Lit provide more detailed advice - they may have had more impact on raising the average standard of entries.

You, and I, may be victims of our own success in encouraging others to compete.

WRONG!

A really bad score, for you, maybe. A really bad story, from you, never.

Glad to hear I am not the only one drowning in trying to read everyone :) I am soo freakishly behind, but how many days do I stiill have to read? ahhhh!!!

so far behind on reading!

I have a list of what I've read so far, and left a PC or sent feedback ... even once as anon  but I was worried about giving an honest opinion to somoene I didn't know.

I'm way behind on my reading. I started with the AHers and then I'm moving on to the others. That way I am keeping track of what I've read.....your list is a good idea, think I'll start one.

BT -I know the feeling! It's not a bad story, it just obviously doesn't float some people's boat! My score is lower than I'd like but I think thats probably'cos it's not halloween enough. I've had tons of lovely feedback, so I'm not going to let it get to me too much :)

Thanks for the support from all of you.
I was just pissed off because the story started out rather good.
Not winning scores, but good.

But ... Laurel found me finally.
Votes down by 10 and the score up to H.

:nana:

I know, this is almost an open invitation. LOL
Now that I know it really isn't that bad, I can live with it.

Good to hear BT.
It's a good story, much better than the sore indicates.

H

There's one from me, let's see them troll that!

well, my first draft is finally done. 10,000 plus words, 23 Word pages, and yet I know that people will wish that there was more, certainly more of a Halloween theme. Maybe it will get scored lower cause of that, but oh well, I'll edit and submit later.
