Jeanne D'Artois is starting to write a Halloween story to try to beat Og for bottom place.

Tell her to watch out. I have an idea and I think it's even worse than last year! :nana:

oh gees...it's only a matter of weeks till nano hits... I'm still editing last years offering *L*

oh, you guys- I can't think of a thing, and Halloween used to be the most important day of the year for me!
Where does our childhood go, where? Whence have gone the bat-capes and fake blood of yesteryear?

I know, wax teeth just don't do a damn thing for me anymore.

I actually dread having all that candy in the house. I don't want to take my kid trick or treating.

We're having a weenie roast instead, with s'mores. Yay.
I hopefully will be driving to Montana to see family and will get out of it this year.

I really enjoyed trick-or-treating when I was a kid until I got too old and took to petty vandalism instead. One of the fond memories of it is wandering all over the small town where I lived, going door to door. Hardly ever did parents go out with their kids unless the kids were only about three years old. After that, the kids were old enough to go on their own. Nobody would do that now, of course, which is a pity.

I'm wondering how many kids will come around to the new house where I live. What I have been giving out lately is small bags of chips, Cheetos, etc. This will be our first Halloween here. :D

J.'s birthday is the 30th, so we'll celebrate his birthday, then hide from the trick-or-treaters the next night because we're too cheap to buy candy this year. :)

I think I'm actually going to have a go at this one. I haven't written erotic horror before, so it might be a fiasco - but why not?

Just trying to think how to keep it reasonably short. Hmmm.

You know, halloween has never been a "thing" for me. I'm pretty certain it's generally not been a Brit thing all over really. As a child my only halloween memory is one year dressing up as a witch for school, complete with broom. And I wasn't a scary witch I was Meg, from the Meg and mog books I read as a kid.

Each year we've gotten more kids to the door trick or trating. When it was hubby and I only we'd hide out in the dark, but onlygot 3 or 4 knocks in the night anyway. Now Beth's here we're not allowed to hide *L* I think she'll want to dress up this year.

So yes, halloween contest entry from someone who has little feel for halloween. Interesting! ;) Or could be!

Good to see you aboard Shanglan dear *pats&strokes*

I got the feeling, EL, that it wasn't such a big thing over there. I think I only saw one or two trick-or-treaters in the three years I was there. We usually get a dozen or two each year where we now live, and it's not on a major road.

As for it being good - hmmm. You might want to reserve judgement until you read the story. It's a sick little thing. ;) Definitely in the "erotic horror" category, and long on the horror and short on eros.

Shanglan, I'm sure it's geting to be more of a thing now, though i still think we Brits save ourselves for bonfire night more.

Oh i'm sure it's good...you just want something stroking :p

Always. ;)

I miss bonfire night. I love the fireworks in the crisp, cold air. Last year I did manage to rummage up a small celebration for the SO, but it's difficult over here across the Pond.

Well, I do like bonfire night but the fireworks over here seem to have gotten to a ridiculously loud level, so that spoils it for me and my daughter. Beth loves the pretty colours but the books really scare her. We took her to the local fireworks show last year and she loved the bonfire and the fiarground, but the fireworks were jsut too loud and i had to take her home early. Very sad. they don't need to be THAT loud.

Parkin is good though and bonfire toffee...mmmmm.

Well, there went the monetary prize. I guess I will have to go for the glory of the last place contest. *sigh*

I finally have an idea. It's a humor story . . . "Vibrator of the Damned." I don't wanna ruin it for anybody, so I'll say no more. But, this is gonna be fun. :D
