I am such a person and if I get an "H" it is because people who read the story are looking for something to wank or frig to, rather than literature.

I am definitely going to enter this year and the story I will enter will be nothing at all like the one I entered last year, and like nothing I have ever written before. That is, it will actually have a plot, conflict and characterization.

I will be submitting on October 1.

My entry for 2002 has just been posted in April. Don't want to say that I'll be done for this year's competition, but I've got one (or thre) in the works. Maybe, if I kick my ass into gear, I'll be ready for NaNo this year...

A daring departure from your norm is almost guaranteed to give me a real fight for last place OR be in the contenders for the real competition.

I should try a story without all those and see how badly I do with it.

I can't write without those things. I've done it here on Lit, to a fair degree at least, but those stories tend to be uniform. There're only so many new ways of mentioning body parts until you have to start resorting to phrases like "honey pot" or "love-meat."

I can't do that; I just can't do that.

Plot at least serves well to distract readers from our consistent use of the same words over and over again. On the other hand, I write slow, and plot and characterization tend to take me many, many words.

I'll finish this year's entry on schedule... for the 2010 contest.

We will allow authors who have won in our monthly contests within the last 6 months to win in this special contest. However, if you have won a prize in another theme contest within the last 6 months, you are not eligible to win in this one.

I'm ineligible because I won a prize in the Free Speech Contest. So did Cloudy. (She was higher than me. )
