Halloween Contest Idea 4 The Author who likes a Challenge

Hey all, for those of you that don't know me, the name is Al or you can just call me Dingus or DG. I used to do something called the Challege Club where a few authors posted some criteria for a story and then followed through in writing said story in the set time frame. It helped a few of us to stretch our skillz and try to get over some writing funks we were in. Some just liked the week to week challenge.

What is my point? Well, let me splain 2 joo. I am proposing a challenge for those of you preparing to write a story for the Halloween Contest a few months from now. It is simple, just write a story with the same title as everyone else. Submit it on the same day as everyone else, and submit it in the same category as everyone else. I think it would be quite amusing to submit a wide array of stories, but with the same title. Imagine what Laurel and Manu would think when they checked their inbox and found a group of stories from different authors, but all with the same title. I don't really have a title, but am thinking of something now as I type this out. Here is what I offer as the challenge:

1- Submit it on October 1, 1st day of the contest.
2- Must be in Erotic Horror, of course.
3- Title will be hmmm...well I will take other suggestions, but I suggest:
"Mask or Rape Ball" nooo thats bad...hmmm "Candy Corn Relish"? Let me try again. How about, "Trick or Tryst"?

As much as that might be a cool title to submit, a title like that might make the stories too close to each other. We need something more generic, so the stories come out different. Until something else is suggested let us use the working title of "Trick or Tryst".

Anyone who wants in on this idea is considered in.

I have been out of the troll business for a while, so what is up with the "Loving Wives" vs Trolls thingy? Isn't Erotic Horror just about the same category anyway?

There are several groups of readers who like Loving Wives stories. Unfortunately no one story can please all of them and those whose particular type of story isn't covered can be very forthright in their voting and comments.

There have been several threads in the Author's Hangout about the Loving Wives category.

One version of Loving Wives sections:

Loving Wives = Cheating Wives and then either a) she gets found out and humiliated or b) her husband is humiliated or c) he enjoys watching her being screwed by someone else or d) their sex gets to be much better now she has some more experience... Each section has very vociferous fans who trash stories that don't fit.

I break all the rules and write about loving wives who are faithful and supportive - so every type of Loving Wives fan bashes the Og stories.

Most Halloween Stories are submitted as Erotic Horror anyway but they don't have to be. The contest covers the whole range of Halloween activities so could be in almost any story category.

Why does it have to fall in a certain category? Why not write it in your chosen genre, as long as you abide by the prerequisites of the story as set forth by Dingus Guy???

If we are going to enter a contest with the same title, then why not go all the way? Imagine the reader looking for a story in a particular genre, and lo and behold, the same title listed over and over again. I just think it would be funny to see all the stories submitted in the same category. As well as submitting it to Manu and Laurel would be even more fun.

Sounds fun. I'm in.

The Poets use to do this quite often, called them Same Title Changes (STC) and Laurel/Manu didn't have a problem with 20+ poems hitting the new page. To be sure they all post on the same day (even when they're a submitted at once), I suggest to leave a note about the story being part of an AH challenge that you intend the story to post on a specified day in the notes section when you submit it.
