While shaving the other day, I began thinking...why do most Dominants want the submissives to shave themselves? (I do not know about Female Dominants and if they prefere their male subs to shave or not ) What exactly does it represent? Is it just an ownership thing? Or is it just nicer to do oral on then having a mouthfull of hair?

My husband never asked me to shave, I started it on my own after seeing a woman nice and smooth and thought how beautiful it was. Once I did shave, my husband loved it and likes it kept that way. So for us it was just looks and oral being nicer type of thing.

For me, it's both appearance and sensation. I love the smooth, "new" appearance, and the smoothness of the shaved flesh to both my fingers and my lips and tongue. There's also a control element in it - that she's doing something that isn't very comfortable (and can be annoying) simply because I want it that way.

I agree with you both...theres the physical aspect and the mental. Although I prefer just a hint of a strip above the lips, occasionally completely bare is a nice change. I dont really like my boys to be completely bare, just the bottom of the shaft and down below, but keep a bit of a patch...shortly trimmed and maintained of course

Public hair snags on things, and a pulled pube is usually a diversion from the stimulation/pain I either want to experiance or inflict.( tho plucking them can be fun).
Its distracting, increases friction, minimises contact and disturbs the view.
And loose strays aren't nice to have in your mouth.

It is as some have already said, while also for some it is a matter of symbolism in that nothing is to be hidden from the Dominant and/or submission. It can also be used as a humiliation for those who are self conscious at being so bare and vulnerable. I have been bare of my own choice (though it is now a requirement of my sbmission) for about 30 years now except for a couple of short periods when it was asked of me to go otherwise.

I agree completely, for me it is a matter of basic hygiene.
Pubic hair keep odours and there is nothing worse than having oral with a non shaved woman - actually I tried it only once and quit after about a minute or so.
Even the photos of unshaved genitals are repulsive to me.

Now this may sound odd but...WalMart has a product called a "Bath Fizzie", found in the Health and Beauty section. Toss it in the bath(obviously) and soak for while then shave in the bath. I used to get shave bumps and some razor burn, but I started doing this and I think it's worth the little but more it costs to get them! Haven't had any in months since I started shaving in the tub! Speaking of which, time to go shopping...running out!

For me, it was really never a choice. Master told me to lie down on towels, shaved off every strand down there, and told me I was to keep it that way. That was about 20 years ago.

I don't know if you can get it down where you are but I use a product called Coochy. I can get it through a local "toy" shop. The web address on the back of the bottle is www.classicerotica.net . Gotta say I love the stuff, no razor burn at all and it cut down on the ingrown hairs by like 90% for me, plus you only have to use the tiniest bit so a bottle lasts forever.
