Does your hairdresser try to hook you up? Mine does. I went earlier this evening to have my hair cut and after several minutes of idle chit chat she proceeds to tell me that she's found the guy for me. Mind you we've had this conversation before.

Not anymore, being married and all... But when I was single, and had just broken up with a fiance that my parents abhorred, my mom fixed me up with a "nice guy" from church. He turned out to be absolutely icky - took me back to his apt. on our first date and spent the evening trying to explain to me how doing what he wanted to do to me wouldn't be "wrong." (And he wasn't even cute, so he had absolutely nothing going for him!)

After that, I really avoided any "fix ups" from well-meaning friends and relatives. I didn't have any trouble finding my own dates, and I was a much better pre-screener!
