Hair Help Needed Please...

i use high quality products for curly hair. i need to get rid of length. There is no two ways about it.

Why do you need to get rid of the length? The tricky part about going shorter with your hair is your fringe, specifically the cowlick on the right side. What if you actually grew your hair longer in length but shortened the layers? My experience is that thick wavy hair is often times more manageable with some length than going really short.

The tricky part is finding somone who knows how to cut curly hair. Longer length with some shorter layers can be a disaster if cut by someone who doesn't know what they are doing. If, however, they have been in the business for a number of years and love cutting curly hair, it can work really really well.

A couple questions you might want to consider are: what are you willing to do to find a stylist who knows how to cut your hair? How much are you willing to pay? Once you find a stylist who can cut curly hair, are you willing to commit to several visits so they can get used to your hair?

As far as product is concerened I would highly recommend Aveda's liquid pamade. Yes, I know it is part of their Men's line but it is an amazing gel whether you are wearing your hair straight or curly. It is highly moisturizing without being heavy. Perfect for styling with a round brush or trying to define your curl and eliminate friz.

Jeez. I sound like a commercial.

Aveda makes amazing products for curly hair.

i have a decent stylist. i was growing my hair out, but if i keep it the length it is i need to pull it back tightly for work. Given that i suffer from horrible headaches and have for years, i know that pulling my hair back makes them worse. i am not going to be very good in dealing with the public if my head hurts so bad i can't see straight.

DB...Thank you. i really like the Judd one, perhaps a little bit shorter...
