so i spontaneously decided to dye my hair ginger-ish today. only it didn't really turn out the way i wanted it. the roots are a lot lighter than the rest and pretty bright orange, even more so than it probably shows in the pics.

i'm a little (a lot!!) worried to leave the house like this and thinking about dyeing over it. my brother says it looks ridiculous, masher says it looks good but he's biased

so i'd like your HONEST opinions, please. thank you!

*realises all the people who hate her are gonna vote "leave it"*

I am biased, but that doesnt mean I;m not right

p.s :p

I do not hate you, and I voted yes to keeping it. But I do think red hair is rather sexy, so maybe I'm biased too. Either way, I am going with leave it.

I say leave it a few days. You might decide you like it.

The base is quite a bit lighter than the ends. Rock it as a reverse ombre. Or go over the color with a slightly darker red demi-permanent color to try and even it out a little.

You probably don't like it because its so different than it was. But as someone who doesn't know what it looked like before, i say it looks good. Keep it and make Masher happy.

It does look good, and I say that as someone who is always brutally honest about appearances (which is why I don't frequent AmPics...:) ). It looks bronze/copper coloured, which is far more interesting than red. Though in the second pic you do remind me horribly of Sadako.

Honestly, you make a lovely ginger. It looks good. Maybe throw a little extra darker red in it so it doesn't seem so drastic to you.

Also, brothers always say things like that.

over the entire length, right?

Yes, as long as the color isn't darker than the ends. Maybe just richen the color a little. A demi permanent won't thrash your hair.

I have experience with this. I've been every kind of red there is.

cool, thanks, i might do that. after the meeting with my prof tomorrow.... at uni.... in this country's capital.... where lot and lots of people will cross my way.... *facepalm*

thanks to those who said they like it! (unless you really hate me :D)

If you're worried about the meeting, then just put it up(like the first picture). I find most profs don't notice things anyway.

As to the colour in general, I like it! However I did almost the same thing a couple years ago and I know how you feel.

I like the earlier suggestion of re-dying it over the lighter areas. It will give it a nice tone and hopefully alleviate your worries.

Good luck with the prof!
Don't listen to your brother.
;)

Rock it out for a few days and see how you feel about it. If you are still uncertain, make a change. But you gotta rock it with confidence.
