No there isn't really any way around it unless you get into the netowork its self and change things. Which would require an IT person to change the permissions. I know it schools they are very strict and things, and make it very hard to do anything. My school does the same. Easy way to get around that is to tell her to buy her own internet connections from a local ISP and she won't have any blocks.
Only option you have is to get a regular old provider and use them, however far as I know you can't use the school computers or internet access for the provider, you have to set up your own access method and have a computer with the required modem or whatnot.
If she doesn't have a computer of her own there, get her and you a video camera and just tape yourselves playing and send the tapes to each other, or email them if you spend enough to get a digital video recorder.
Well the thing is, if you wanted to do it you would have to end up getting admin access to the network to change the relevent ports.
Doing this u are breaking the law in a big way as a school in some counties are classed as govenment property! (although they are real easy to get into depending on the knowledge of the IT Geek!!)
IMHO i wouldnt do it on the network. If IT geek boy notices the changes (which he will) he might end up watching ur MRS bean flicking too, and might record it and whack it ont he internet. She will blam u and before u know it your in the dog house.
I bet its frustrating though.... I hope you work something out!
