Guys....would you rather.....

your partner was brutally honest about your bad habits...bedroom manner and such or would you rather she be more tactful?

This question was based on a reaction my better half had to the other question about how she rates in general. (See the other thread I started tonight.)
Her explanation is that she would rather me be honest than try to give her a number ranking. It brought the point to my mind that we sometimes don't get the real story about our bad habits and such. Can we believe them when they say we're the best lover they ever had or will we hear about Ramon while they sleep? So guys...which would you rather have?

-A partner that is more tactful?
-A partner that is more honest?
-A partner that worships the ground you walk on?

I prefer total honesty in all aspects, communication is always the key to any type of relationship. Friends, lovers or spouses.

Honesty at all times.... but I don't see why that wouldn't mean she couldn't also be tactful, and worship me in some respects - and the same being true for me of her.

Honesty isn't always brutal and don't you sometimes really know that some of the things you do aren't that... savoury? Shouldn't you try and develop some self awareness and change things yourself? After all, she's your partner, not your mum and you're an adult...

The three choices represent both extremes and a middle ground.

Brutally honest to me means she's not afraid to tell you what she really think even at the risk of being hurtful or abrasive.

Worshiping the ground you walk on signifies the person who won;t stand up for herself or the one who doesn't want to rock the boat.

The tactful honesty represents the middle ground albeit a definitive one.

I mean there are middle grounds between them. Everyone knows that. And some situations change over time depending on the relationship. This isn't a definitive poll nor one that necessarily represents the whole spectrum of a relationship. I mean....I want my spouse to tell me if an outfit looks bad on me because of the requirements of my job...yet I also don't want her to tell me in front of a bunch of people that my idiot ass forgot to zip my pants up. It's all how you look at it.
