No. That's not what I said. You make it sound like I said most age players will be pedophiles/molesters, and I said the opposite. I said the vast majority are most likely NOT pedophiles/molesters, but that the question of whether one was or not could be a possible reason for the squick factor over ageplay. Then people came in trying to turn that into "Pachet says most age players will want to fuck children", when that is clearly not what i said. So just... no to that one. I'll reiterate - the issue isn't that most will actually molest. The issue is simply wondering IF, because someone's an ageplayer, they might molest. The mere possibility could squick someone out. Perhaps like the possibility that a gunplaying cop could be into beating innocent protesters - I'll concede that. But all I can say is that I've seen the personality type of cops who end up going out of control, and none of the guys I've played with exhibit that personality. If they did I wouldn't play with them.
Of course they're sadists. So are some doctors and lawyers (and all kinds of other professions). How come you're not asking "But if a doctor likes needle play, doing it too much to his sub at home might make him want to stick needles in a patient's organs when he's operating?" A cop being a gunplaying sadist is no more or less germane to his job than a doctor being a needleplaying sadist. Both could certainly kill someone if doing it in the privacy of their own home to a willing subject made them want to go do it to nonconsenting people.
I'm glad you don't buy that argument, btw. But I think you (and a few others) misread (maybe purposefully) what I said. Once more, with feeling: the OP of the ageplay thread asked why some people might be squicked by ageplay. I replied that maybe it was because they wondered if ageplayers might actually be or turn into child molesters. I then pointed out that this is unlikely and that I believed most age players don't do this, but that a small percentage probably do, (just like a small percentage of the general population does). I finished by saying that I didn't think the ageplayers responding to that thread were molesters, but that sometimes when people talk about ageplay, the thought crossess my mind - are they one of the small percentage?
In a way you could say it's fair to compare the two, and say maybe a small percentage of gunplaying cops go out and beat people, but I really don't think it would be the gunplay that's the deciding factor there - the deciding factor is a sociopathic personality that has no empathy and gets off on truly hurting others, as opposed to hurting them in the bdsm sense. Don't forget, as the bottom, I want everything that's being done to me. Limits are established beforehand, safewords are used. It's not like I go in a room with some psycho cop and just let him have at me. It's bdsm play like any other, with the caveat that deadly weapons are involved. I know that's hard for people to understand.
