hello everyone! i just wanted to drop in and let you all know that i've been lurking around the boards. i'm really interested in bdsm but i'm too shy to even know where to begin finding a dom.

my ex was great as far as tying me up and everything but i felt shy to ask for more. i'm only 19 - i figured i have time but i want it now!

Welcome to the boards.

I have no advice for you regarding finding a Dom. But have a good time here!

First, welcome, and congratulations on your first post.

Responses:

Shyness can be overcome.

Finding a Dom should not, IMNSHO, be your first priority. Meeting people, online and in "r/l" should be. Online: Start reading and responding to threads which interest or intrigue you. If you have specific questions or ideas, or questions or ideas regarding specific areas of BDSM, start a thread clearly stating the question or idea. People will respond. R/L: Find a munch or three in your area and attend. The folks at munches are almost invariably kind, helpful and informative to people new to the group/area/lifestyle.

"I want it now" can be dangerous to your health - physical, emotional, psychological. Please be very careful, both online and in r/l, about attaching yourself, your emotions, to the first - or any - one you run into, or who runs into you. There are predators in the lifestyle, both online and in r/l, just as surely as there are predators outside the lifestyle. Do some research on safe practices, and follow the guides given. Do not put yourself in a position that could leave you vulnerable.

We look forward to hearing more from you - and eventually, that you have found what you seek.
