Greeting, y'all. I'm Will Adams, aka Rajin Cajun, webmaster of Rajin Cajun's WET SPOT. I've finally found a source of great information, and I'm loving it!! I think that this might be a place for me to post a survey question that has been eating at me for weeks now, trying to decide whether to, or where to, move my free hosted adult site. The address is: http://stories.adult-space.com/westspot . My question is this: How do you feel about the music on my site, or music on story sites in general?
1. It sucks, take it off...
2. I don't like it, but I can tolerate it...

I haven't been to your site yet but, I'm not crazy about music on any site. I've usually got the tv on while I'm on the net plus I kind of like to choose my own music.

Yes I have to agree with the last poster that the one thing that bug's me on some site's is the cheesey music you have to listen to, why not make the music optional.

GuyJD will tell you that I'm sort of a Nazi, so take this for what you will. I'm always a little suspicious when someone makes a link to another site the focus of their first post. 99% of the time I zap the post (and sometimes the poster) because of my fatal allergy to spam. I checked out your site and you don't seem like a spammer to me - just perhaps very enthusiastic about your site. I know the feeling so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

If your music was on fire, I wouldn't piss on it, ie. I don't like it. But then, I don't go to sites like your's. So, what do I know.

My question is this: How do you feel about the music on my site, or music on story sites in general?

I have pretty eclectic tastes in music. The three stories I sampled, the music seemed to fit the story. i.e. romantic music for a romantic story.

However, it's sort of a moot point for me, because I don't read stories online, and so I wouldn't hear the music anyway.

Some points to ponder about music on a story site:

Loading the music takes a while, and loads before the background, so I sat looking at a white story on a white background for about 20 seconds.

The song has to repeat before a typical reader will finish the story. It's nice music the first time through, but it would get real boring if not downright irritating after about the third repeat.

As pointed out by others, not everyone shares your taste in music.

You've got a beautiful site, but the number of graphics slow it down. It's a great site for DSL or cable-modem, but us poor phoneline users spend a long time waiting for each page. The music just adds to the wait.

Thank you all for such a warm greeting!! The input is great and I appreciate it. That is exactly what I've been looking for. See, the free host that I'm on has been getting on my last nerve lately, and have been very tempted to move. But the catch is that most of the other places didn't support the music. Therefore, I've been standing at the crossroads for weeks now, wondering whether to give it up or not. I'm leaning toward giving it up, because to me the greatest single factor against it is loading speed. But sentimentally, the song on the main page (where the stories are listed) has been there since day-one, but sometimes we must make sacrifices, right? LOL Oh, and sorry about the appearance of spam..but you can beat me anyways....LOL Seriously, I do appreciate everyone's input on this matter. Now I know where to go when I need advice, that's for sure!! Heck, while I'm at it, who has suggestions for free adult hosts??? I've been looking at quite a few, but don't see much. The only criteria I'm looking for generally is that it don't require a splash page (ooooooh, I hate those!!) and that there performance is decent. I don't need a whole lot of space (especially if I do give up the music, the site takes about 4.7MB with music). Y'all take care and the Cajun will be around often...*kisses and handshakes - distribute as appropriate*
