Maharat - Thank you for this thread, I realize that I need to tell my kids how proud I am of them all. I don’t do that enough, I spend way too much time pointing out areas where they can improve. I spoke with the one still awake, will get the rest tomorrow.

Right now, my parents and your parents are in a UBKA (Ungrateful Bastard Kids Anonymous) Meeting lamenting about how ungrateful, forgot-where-they-came-from-and-who-worked-two-jobs-for-us-to-get-where-we-are, arrogant, ungrateful, snot-nosed, did-I-say-ungrateful, worthless brats we are.

This happened to me lately! I was given hell for pursuing more training, 'Why are you wasting your money?'. It is amazing how many notions they have about how I should apply my resources.

But when they found out their friends found it cool, then all of a sudden they were boasting about it.

Now I am being given hell, while they boast! :angry:

My father-in-law once said, "education is never a waste, you just don't know when you may need it, so take it!"

If your parents complain about what you are spending YOUR money on, tell them it IS your money and in the end it will be a pay off!

You could always say "I have to have a good education to pay for your sorry asses when you are in the home Im sending you to!" Then sit back and watch their jaw drop! lol
