Since 1977 who is the best and most significant band or musician? Taking into account chops, originality, lyrics, output, significance, etc.

Bell Biv Devoe... If you include their work with New Edition it's no contest.

No bonus points can be given due to New Edition correlation due to the fact that Bell Biv Devoe did not include Bobby Brown who was obviously the brains behind the operation.

As Boston girl born and bred I take offence to the fact that Aerosmith is not on the list.

So I'm voting Tiffany just to spite your ass.

Dammit, can I change my vote to Poison, then?

Unskinny Bop was pure genius.

Those were cowgirls? I thought it was Ricky Rockett and CC Deville. Huh. Who could tell?

funny list...easily the clash but i voted for urge overkill...saturation is a great album.

Agreed.

What qualifies them is the diversity they showed, not to mention depth, with their ballad "Every Rose Has A Thorn". Truly cut to the core of human existence with its tale of love lost, love found, and all amidst that wondrous acoustic guitar.

Magical.

And now I hear you've found somebody new
and that I never meant that much to you
to hear that tears me up inside
and to see you cuts me like a knife.

Lyrical genius. Gets me every time. *sniff*

What, no Britney!?!?

Too bad you can't see the incredible amount of sarcasm in that statement

I can't believe you're mocking Poison.

Mocking??? Whatever makes you think I am mocking? Did I not sound utterly sincere? hehe

I am resisting the urge to post Clash lyrics. lol Argh.

Look closely at the list honey. lol

I did, but I am such a dinosaur and my taste is SO much different than everyone else's that I'm still not certain.
But I'll believe anything you tell me.

I just read that the lead singer of The Clash died just this weekend.

They get my vote just because I refuse to admit that I really did like Tiffany.
