MM I WILL BE GENTLE WITH YA

Grease
Little Shop of Horrors
Bye Bye Birdie ( our high school did this one)
Rocky Horror...the classic that refuses to die

LET'S DO THE TIMEWARP AGAAAAAIN!!!!!

Dammit Janet.

Anyone ever been to a live showing?? Its Major fun!!!

By far, my favorite is Phantom. I did see Cats back in 1988, and while I didn't much care for the performance, I did like the costumes and some of the music. My two year old son loves the video, though.

Next in line for my us would be Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Got the video several months ago, and my kids have watched it so many times I think I can recite it forwards and backwards in my sleep!

While I haven't personally had the opportunity to see many musicals, I do have a nice little collection of CD's from musicals. Fav's being Les Miz, and Aspects of Love. (swooning over Michael Ball's voice)

That's all, off the top of my head...subject to be expanded upon at a later time. :)

Endlessly said:
Godspell is also the last musical I was in-- I forgot to put it on my list of faves. Dixon, who'd ye play?

Jeffrey -- the "We Beseech Thee" role, and the most athletic. And I got to do the Prodigal Son parable -- fun.

One night our Jesus slammed down the saw horse and shouts his line, "Do not show your good works before men", and we all notice that he's cracked the saw horse in two. The whole audience notices -- it's a 1400 seat theatre, and the laughter was tremendous. Our Jesus waits for the right moment when the laughter subsides and says, "It's a good thing I'm a carpenter."

HUGE laughs.

LMGDMGFAO!!!!!!!!!

Dixon, my stomach hurts I'm laughing so hard. I loved that song-- we did a human pyramid at the end of it. The prodigal son bithis hillarious.. I loved the part where the son got to fight the pigs for his food. :D

Actually, the chicks I was in it with were less than amused when the director came up to block that, and said, "Okay, first you get to be whores, then you get to be pigs." Whoo. *L*

I feel for you after playing Jeffrey though. Did you wear kneepads?

Weido sweetie, there are nekkid pics of me on this site. I don't think it's a matter of working up courage. :D It's just that I refuse to allow a picture to show my face.

Ohhh, you should NOT get me started. I love movie musicals.
I love Grease, Footloose, Dirty Dancing, The Sound of Music,
Oklahoma, West Side Story, Gigi, Singin'In The Rain, Holiday Inn <NO, not the hotel chain, the movie!>
and especially all those Alice Faye or Betty Grable (20th Century Fox) musicals of the early to mid
1940's. See, I told you not to get me started <g>.

Someone may have mentioned it and I missed it and sorry if I did, but I didn't see anyone bring up, my personal fave: South Pacific. Bali Hai is calling... and my favorite song from it, "Some enchanted evening". *swooning*
