"One person that I want to thank, that I usually don't give a whole big shout out to, is President Putin from Russia. Without you, we wouldn't be here," Graham said. "You've done more to strengthen NATO than any speech I could hope to give."

"What we've been able to accomplish here through Putin's invasion of Ukraine is to remind everybody in the world — when it comes to bullies, you better stand up to them before it's too late," he added.
i mean, he's right, but the irony about standing up to bullies is just precious

Well of course he did .......

"Sen. Josh Hawley, a Missouri Republican who often aligns his positions with those of the most ardent supporters of former President Donald Trump, cast the only no vote."

Doh!!!

And the whiney assed little Paulsy ? Did a Tushy ......

"Paul, a longtime advocate of keeping the U.S. out of most military action abroad, voted "present" on the ratification of Sweden and Finland's membership bid."

Yup, just 5 years ago Trump was toasting Russian diplomats in the Oval Office to celebrate the deconstruction of NATO. Many of those who paid for and drank Trump's Kool Aid are still staggering around, winning GOP primaries, but the 95-to-1 vote is a good indication of who will win in the general elections.

Putin lovers, election deniers, women haters, scapegoaters, and pathological liars don't have much appeal outside of the shrinking Trump base. You'd think they would have learned that after the last election, but we're dealing with people who think the world is whatever they want it to be in their fairy land of social media.

  • The final holdout within NATO — Turkey — voted on Thursday to let Finland join the alliance.
  • It was the last thing stopping NATO gaining a powerful new member that borders Russia.
  • Putin said he attacked Ukraine to push NATO back — but Finland's accession achieves the opposite.

good, but now they need to get Sweden involved

Turkey's president had accused Finland and Sweden of supporting groups that Turkey sees as terrorists.

He said earlier this month that Finland had taken "authentic and concrete steps" to address his grievances, and that he now supported Finland joining.

Turkey has not yet approved Sweden's bid.
