Grace's Gallery

mmmm i wanna be there... it looks so calm and peaceful *sigh*
beautiful :rose:

You're abstract pieces are really intense! I especially chaos! Very very evocative of that sense of AAAAAGGGHHHHHHH :D

your work..

I adore the photos, would love to view the paintings but it takes forever to load - think I have to put another coin in my comp?
Your landscape photos depict an intense appreciation for hues, light and shadow. Anton Corbijn's blue and the brown portraits he did in particular, have the same allure.
Congratulations. :rose:

I've seen most of these before and you know what I think of them, but I just have to say it again - you're incredibly gifted. Believe in yourself. :kiss:

ANd thank you SH- sorry i didnt see you there!!

~~~
Ok, this next piece is very important to me, those who were around when i painted Zeher and The Spice of Life, may remember a '3rd painting'. Well, this is it.
It's a very personal piece, but it's also dedicated to some wonderful friends of mine- for mostly different reasons as to why its very personal to me. I had a very profound reaction to this piece today from another very good friend, that i just feel so...touched by. SO i figured this was a good time to make it public.
To my Muses, i kept this back for a bit, but i need it to be seen now, i hope you don't mind. :rose:
This is my favorite yet...wow. It's elegant...there's much going on here. I love the weaving of the reds and browns, as well as the little pools of color where the colors cross over each other. I have no idea how you did this one, but it love it! It reminds me a bit of Jackson Pollock's stuff. There is a lot of beautiful detailing here too. The linear work...it's subtle, but it makes the painting work. Everything - even the soft patches of color in the background (in my humble opinion :D). :cool:
This should be in a gallery. How big is it, Ffg?
it is...*measures* about 17cm by about 25cm
None of my paintings (at least none of the ones up so far) are any bigger than that- i use Canvas paper or canvas board- but coz i'm experimenting with the base i only buy the small ones. :)
Thank you btw :rose:
ps. black and crimson watered down ;)
I love your photos, Grace! :rose:
I don't know where you took them, but I get the impression that you somehow you managed to make something beautiful and spectacular out of a really ordinary scene.
One day you should go to Wales and take photos there.
Thank you feee :rose:
~~ Scheh, you wouldnt beleive me if i showed you a pic of the same place in daylight. Honestly. You REALLY wouldn't. Yes it was such an ordinary scene that i still can't beleive i got those pictures :)
Thank you :kiss: and maybe one day i will- you'll have to show me around ;)
I'd love to comment on "lovechild" but everything I keep typing doesn't sound quite elegant enough to convey all the wonder there.
But I know if it were in a gallery I would end up sitting and staring at it for hours.
Grace,
OMG they are all wonderful and you are very talented -- man keep them coming i can not wait to see more
:rose:
Thanks everyone for your lovely words :eek: all feedback is very much appreciated.
~~
As opposed to posting this as an art piece i wanted to ask for feedback on how to improve this drawing. This is the 3rd draft of Michelangelo's David i actually drew him back in january.
I should mention that for what i plan to do to poor poor David doesnt require me to go into the detail of musclature aside from the outline of his body. I really just need opinions on positioning and proportions, angles and perspective.
I am aware that i have some work to do on his groin area, but i would really appreciate any other feedback- sometimes it helps to have a new set of eyes survey a drawing as much as it does with writting. :)
