In the United States "Government" is not some inanimate object or natural phenomenon like a rock, or a tree or the sun. Government is you. It is us. Not a force of nature or a natural law. I am so fucking sick of statements about "the government" as if any shitty thing you think about the US's government or institutions is anything but a reflection on you and on us.

It is a completely different story for those backward ass cultures that have a tyrant, or a dictator or an oligarch or a Queen. Or places where they cannot trust their elections to reflect the will of the people.
