An estimated 80% of American Muslims voted for President Bush in 2000. Eight years and several wars later, in 2008, the numbers were almost reversed, with about that many supporting Obama.
Meanwhile, aggressive Republican efforts to woo Jewish voters for decades, including the aggressive pro-Israel policies and anti-Muslim rhetoric, have accomlished next to nothing with an estimated 75-85% of Jewish voters continuing to vote Democrat in most national elections year after year.
So, the GOP threw away a growing constituency that was leaning its way, while wasting time and effort courting another which has accomplished nothing. Way to go, GOP strategists. Great job.
