This Thursday is the very last ever (new) Friends!

I thought I was ok with it going off the air, but with the end so close, I just don't know what I'm going to do! I thought there were three more episodes or so! I know the last episode is going to make me cry.

I just wish I had some friends who liked the show so we could have a 'going away party':( and watch it together. Or at the very least, that I could get the baby to sleep or something so I could just sit down and watch it uninterupted.

Anybody else a "Friends" fan?

<sigh>

Oh Christ, SnP!

By the title of your post I thought you meant you were leaving the AH.

Don't scare me like that, love!

lol I was also in a state of panic and it was not over the death of must see TV Geez SnP;)
Hello again

Wow, you guys! You make me feel very loved:heart:

I thought it might be a bit provocative, but I never thought- well, I guess I never know you all cared so much!

Now where's the emoticon for sobbing big fat happy tears like I just won an Acedemy Award???

I feel your pain. I've just discovered they are airing the finale of sex and the city tonight! Where was I when they were playing the rest of the season? At least friends is planning a reunion and a spin off. What about Samantha? Sniff.

Had me half typing a "nooo don't gooo" there too, SnP. Fess up, you chose that title with presicion. :D

Am I the only one who is bored to bits with the traditional sitcom style shows? Friends has a good laugh now and then, but other than that, I dunno, the whole Laugh-With-Us audience thing makes my teeth ache. The "family" shows are the worst, like Raymond or a horrible one I just saw with Jim Belushi of all people as a cliché inept chauvinist dad.

I'm currently addicted to Scrubs though.

Jeezus Christ SnP, don't scare me like that! I was about to have a fit when I saw the title of this post. I don't care for tv or for the show freinds, but real freinds are so hard to find and you are such a good one.

I thought I was going to have to PM you with "Don't go.", but I couldn't think why I'd made you leave, so I decided to read the thread first.

As for the series I'll quote Eminem:

You don't know me, you're too old, let go
It's over

I never watched any of the last series and when I watch it now I just can't help picking out all the faults. Bad sign.

Gauche (still watching Seinfeld re-runs)

Yeah, I'll be sad to watch friends disappear. I've watched every episode several times and feel like I know all the characters. I love it cos it's like a little bubble of escapism where everybody's funny, nice and beautiful.

Bit like here really.

Glad you're not leaving Sweet, though I didn't presume that (unimaginable!) Never liked Friends (or Seinfeld, -field?), just don't enjoy mean-spirited characters.

sorry for your loss though,

Perdita :)

I had a feeling it was going to be about the show:) since I'm a friends addict too, I know I'll be crying, it's so sad. Thank God for reruns though and for the spinoff.

Wicked:kiss:

Whew!

I'm glad I read threads before responding to them.

I was all set to ask "What are we going to do without our child figure? The one who asks the important questions because she hasn't yet been told 'This is how the world works'? Our conscience?" :(

But I feel much better now.

Oh as regards 'Friends', never seen it. I don't watch much TV. Even less now that mine has died.

Hi SnP,
I knew what you meant by "Goodbye Friends" because I am a Friends fan too and will miss the show - maybe it wasn't as good this year as in the past, but I have watched the reruns many times and am sad that this Thursday is the end. All the commercials for it this week are making me sad.
:(

Normally I would question a spinoff, but since Joey is one of my favorite characters I will be tuning in to that...
:)

*HUGS* back Colly. I didn't even know if you were talking to me again. Glad to know you are! (Sorry it took such drastic tactics to find out, lol;))

I still think that friends is funny. On the other hand, I used to love Seinfeld and now I change the channel when it's on. I guess the people just got irritated when I finally caught on to how mean and self absorbed they all are. (Yeah, the friends cast is pretty self absorbed, but I dont' think that they are mean) I still like "Mad About You" though, that's a funny show.

I do wonder if I will get a "Sienfeld Effect" when Friends finally goes off air. (ie, I find that I could care less and don't even like to watch the show any more) ON the other hand, two of my favorite shows aren't on any more and I miss them much and really wish that they hadn't ended. (for the curious- 'Dharma and Greg' and 'Any Day Now')

Well, anther thing about Friends is that it actually is a link for me to a real life friend who has passed away. Of course I know that I'll always have reruns, but endings are sad:(

I love Friends..... It reminded me of my circle of friends. We have our Joey, Rachel, Monica, Ross, Chandler and Phebs.. Each one of those characters reminded me of my friends...There are six of us who are or were coupled and it amazed me how we could relate to that show - even though it was about people in their 20's and were are in our 30's.

It will be missed...but thank God for reruns...

PS, Sweet...yes June 16th is me....you said one of your sisters is as well...she must be a great GEMINI!!!!
Gotta love us...we are are own breed....

Sweet, I thought the same as everyone else when I saw the thread title. You wicked tease! Don't do that to me. :p

And, yes, quite! That thread title would be sooo much better. We are all evil, nasty people, only out to stab each other in the back, apparently - according to one person in a certain thread, anyway.
