Good Vacation for Bad Children

Swimming with dolphins is so 20th century. While searching for a photo of a bear and a turkey to use as an AV for the holiday weekend, I found this site where you can take the family to swim with a polar bear.

Now, some of you may love your children, and may even know that polar bears make the often ferocious Grizzly seem like a Teddy Bear, but just think of the bragging rights the next time someone talks about their "almost spiritual" interaction with Flipper on their trip to Jamaica. That is, if your child survives.

Back to searching for a Bear and Turkey together. All I can find is photos of bears with turkey feathers for some reason.

For the concerned : there is a piece of glass between the polar bears and the swimmers.

Thank you MJ. They are both good, and the second is just what I was looking to find.

I love the idea of the bragging rights, although some of the children I have had to deal with, (including my brothers kids,) well I think I would spray them with something like Buck rut before tossing them in the tank.

The polar bear [scientific Latin name Ursus maritimus)], is at the apex of its food chain. It is the world's largest land carnivore. Adult males weigh from 400 to 600 kg (900 to 1300 lbs) and occasionally exceed 800 kg (1750 lbs). Females are about half the size of males and normally weigh 200–300 kg (450 - 650 lbs). Adult males measure 2.4 to 2.6 m; females, 1.9 to 2.1 m. If it moves, it is polar bear food. I would not swim in a pond in any sort of proximity to a polar bear.

By the way, a polar bear is not actually white. The polar bear's fur is actually colorless, with hollow hair. The hollow hair captures what little sunlight there is in the polar bear's environment. As you might suspect, the polar bear loses very litttle heat to the environment. In fact, it is not possible to track polar bears by infra red trackers.

And a pane of glass protects the children. What's to worry?

What I would worry about is the fact that only a pane of [doubless very thick] glass separates me from a perhaps 1500 pound polar bear. I polar bear is a very strong animal.
