Good News for the UK

I read about that today. I've been involved in a bit of the campaigning for unmetered access through my job and believe me there is a long way to go yet.
Lycos and Alta Vista both launched similar schemes but had to pull out in the end. It just wasn't feasible. I'd be interested to know how AOL will manage. It all boils down to the ludicrous monopoly of BT. When we've broken that then we might just get somewhere.

P.S. Do you really think I'm going to use an ISP called AMERICA online?! ;)

BT suck's.

I worked for BT for a year and they are asshole's, and you can bet they'll be doing everything in their power to sink AOL's plan like they did Alta Vista's.

I,m still wondering how much of the screen we,re going to lose to advertising, to pay for it.

Laurel...

As you know, I'm in Phoenix, U.K.(wink), so thanks for the update...Anybody watch Dallas spank the Redskins?

I scared the shit out of some Dutch ladies at Madamme Teussad's (sp?) It could have been worse, but I'm nice that way...I posed in a lighted stairwell and they thought I was wax...

AOL Joins U.K.'s Unlimited Access War

I enjoy unlimited access and have done for the last eighteen months, through what was Screaming until it was taken over a few months ago. Off peak is absolutly free and peak time costs me £5 per month. That is certainly 'cheap' enough for me.

My daughter used Breathe, then went on to BreatheFreely - a one off payment of £50.
BreatheFreely have recently barred about 500 of their customers for over-use.

Neither of us loses any space to ads.

InsideShiraz: What was that about exactly? Where was the UA ref?

Gus
