What are some pieces of music, that are actually pretty good, that you just can't enjoy for some reason? For example, Elgar's Pomp And Circumstance is a nice piece of processional music, but most of us that graduated high school in the US think of it as interminably boring because of the endless repetitions while we waited for our diplomas. Likewise, as a former french horn player, I can't listen to a Sousa march without pitying those poor horn players doing nothing but offbeats for the whole tune.

If I don't like it, then it's shit.

That's just the way music works.

It's actually a decent piece of music, if it's only played through the one time. It's the repetition that does it in.

Pachelbel, however, has to answer for ruining more than just his own piece.

What you think means shit in the grand scheme of things unless what you think improves the situation.

Elgar was self taught and lived in poverty till he was 50 when the Queen took notice of one of his marches.

I said this somewhere else, but for me it's Bob Dylan. He grates on me despite his greatness.

i'm going to ignore the idiotic bob dylan hate and just say phish. they were clearly talented and gifted musicians, but beyond like two or three (or maybe just one now because bounce around the room is the only thing i can even remember liking by name) of their songs that shit simply bores the shit out of me.

and the dead were good. it's their fans that ruined them. when i was in high school (echo generation, bitches) your average dead head seemed to have no knowledge outside of the dead. it was a huge pain in the ass. i just wanted to slap the fuckers.

daily.

fucking psuedohippies.

I find myself not liking the tunes and bands that I really enjoyed back in the day. How many times can you listen to Pink Floyd? I blame Clear Channel and their radio station demons that sucked the life out of the classics.
