And yet, in the past 30 years, not a single mass shooting event was stopped by an armed civilian....

To be fair, every mass shooting in the past 30 years was started by an armed civilian.

Maybe the problem is not a lack of guns, but a lack of good guys.

The real problem with being an armed civilian good guy is he is likely to be the first one shot when the armed non-civilians show up on the scene.

Just something a good guy has to consider.

That's not true. There is the mass murder ar Fort Hood.

Interesting how the NRA blamed everyone else and could only come up with the solution of more guns. What started out as a reasonable org for hunters has turned into a militant extremist group who thinks the Second Amendment is the Second Coming.

You ignore the fact that nearly EVERYONE on a military base is unarmed the majority of the time.

Most mass shootings in the US occurred in gun-free zones. You know, the places in which "law-abiding citizens" are unarmed.

The NRA is a lobby org for gun manufacturers.

So how do we stop these fires?

More fires. Keep the fires burning, and, well they might burn themselves out?

I don't know. But I see it as a preface to a civil war because the NRA and the people who buy into their crap have no plans to allow anyone to take their guns unless it's out of their cold, dead hands.

I didn't ignore anything. I simply expressed disagreement with this sentence in the OP.

There aren't enough meandering threads on this subject already? We really needed another?

Yes, indeed.

Yet the DNC has done more for gun sales this week than the NRA has done in it's entirety.

Are you aware of how the forestry industry clears out small growth to prevent forest fires?

Probably not.

You're just another Frenchy chirping across a pond.

I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes

I see a line of cars and they're all painted black
With flowers and my love, both never to come back
I see people turn their heads and quickly look away
Like a newborn baby it just happens ev'ryday

I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red door and it has been painted black
Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts
It's not easy facing up when your whole world is black

Eats away at the core. Slowly. Like dying slowly, drowning.

Interesting. Who wrote that?

Good.

The NRA was originally started by a group of Union officers after the American Civil war to promote civilian marksmanship. They were appalled at the number of soldiers who couldn't hit the sides of barns.

Of course, that was long before is morphed almost into a wholly owned subsidiary of the GOP.

I'd support JPFO or GOA before I'd support the NRA.
