Recently I've been spending a whole lot of time with one of the authors from Lit Erotica, first as friends and more recently as the occasional more than friends encounters. She promised me repeatedly that she was going to write a story inspired by me. Motivated by that I decided to start helping her generate material by, well, by acting out all sorts of ideas with her. The problem is that she STILL hasn't written the story despite me providing ten stories worth of material.

So I need a little help from her author community. Can all the authors and readers here please help me pressure her into actually finishing the story she promised me?

Her label on the forums is WarmVanilla...I'm sure you'd remember her corset avatar, I know I do.

Baby, I told you I'd do it, don't get mad.

Oh, dear. Now I'm in for it.

Let me recover from my birthday and I'll get right on it, hon.

wishfulthinking & sirhugs

I just think it is a brilliant story idea.

Reader feedbacks a writer -
Correspondence ensues -
They meet to talk writing -
Their friendship deepens -
She needs to do some practical research -
Bedroom scene -
She promises to write for him -
This thread -
Other people offer to help her -
Take it where you will.

What more do you want from a Story Ideas thread?

The more cynical side of me wonders how many more reads WarmVanilla will get from the publicity?

Things don’t always go as planed when writing or attempting to write personal live effect things in strange ways and sometimes for little fault of our own promises can and are broken.

Or you might be right! and the above is a load of twaddle.

Anyway good luck in getting the story written but I wouldn’t push to hard

Love Lin

been there, wrote that...but otherwise not about to kiss and tell.

I'd like to say a thing or two.

First of all, I in no way put MintSoda up to this. Anyone who thinks I wanted the extra reads on an old story, well...don't know what to tell you. Of course, my read count didn't go up much and the story average went down.

Second, if you're going to post an anonymous critical note on a piece of work, have some balls and actually tell me what's wrong with it. Of course, what do I expect from a place with an anonmous feedback system? To answer the feedback, no, this isn't the only thing that has Mint asking for more. And I'm sorry the story wasn't worth the "build up" to you. Of course, there never was supposed to be any.

That's my two but one more:

The reason I haven't written or submitted anything else is that I've been going through a long period of insomnia and depression. Which is probably why I'm taking criticism so personally. It's also why I haven't been posting much until Mint did this.

In closing, if you have nothing nice to say, at least be constructive. Otherwise don't bother.

And Mint...you've been a bad kitten. You know what happens to bad kittens.

Playful's fine. :)

I was in a *nasty* mood when I posted earlier. Hadn't slept properly in weeks, and I was still up from the night before. Think it might be time for me to see a doctor about the lack of sleep. Starting to affect more than my writing abillity.

Apologies for overreacting. Now that I've had a bit of sleep, I'm a bit more rational.

Of course not - can't you tell from my postings.

Why do pessimists have a better life than optimists? - because all the surprises they get are nice ones.

but we blind optomists never lack for imaginary friends

If people really think this was a publicity ploy for an internet web site that's kind of sad. To really take things on this site that seriously. Nobody is getting paid for posting here, nobody is getting paid for having a higher ranking for their story, and nobody is paying to be a cynical dick probably because nobody liked your story.

Personally I really don't care if she even posts the story about us on here. In fact, with the reaction to this post, I'd kind of rather she didn't.

I've been in writing groups before and I assumed that was supposed to be the spirit of this community. Authors are supposed to help each other, motivate each other, give constructive criticism and try to help one another move forward in their writing. Shame on the anonymous critic of her story with zero constructive criticism and only harsh words.

I never thought this thread was a ploy to get people to read a story - bad snooper!

*whip*

I just didn't like Mint's suggestion to put pressure on WV. If anything, in my mind that would only decreases the enthusiam to write a story.

Hope things go well with you, WV. :rose:
