My friend H, who has been absent for a month, called right now, and explained that she hasn't had the strength to talk to anyone these past few weeks, because she's in mourning. Her husband passed away one month ago.

I couldn't believe what she was saying. She's like 27, he had just turned 30! Heart failure. He was feeling perfectly fine, went to work, they were going shopping later on, and - pow! He's gone. CPR couldn't save him. Apparently, all of us have heart strain when we have a cold, but we don't feel neither pain nor symptoms, and in 90% of all cases, you never know you have it. You can have it about 5 times a year, without ever noticing!
And this was a healthy man who didn't smoke or drink, wasn't particularly overweight - and he just collapsed and was braindead within one hour!
Leaving behind him a 27-year-old wife and a 3-year-old son.

I'm shaking all over. I can't believe how fast it can go, and without any warning whatsoever. Humans are frail creatures in the hand of destiny.:(

Svenska when I read your other thread before I wanted to post that once again, there's nothing but good news from you. I'm glad I didn't do that.

I'm sorry to hear that it sucks. But life can not be a bitch sometimes, IT ALWAYS IS A BITCH.

I just hope that your friend and her child will mend sometime in the future.

But I have to say that you actually could have chosen a better thread title.

*hugs*

Just goes to show, we can't count on being here tomorrow.

I worry now for your friend. While it is too soon to worry about this, I read once that a woman widowed in her 20's is highly unlikely to marry again. I guess it has to do with the shock.

The only woman I knew who was widowed so early, is still unmarried in her 50's. She's been in a relationship now for 10+ years, but no inclination to marry him.

My sympathies to you, and your friend.

Wish there was more I could say, but my thoughts are with you.

That is why i tell my mommy I love her every time I say goodbye.

for real.

Sorry about your friend.

I had a friend die in her 30's from heart attack too. Thing is, she did have a medical history, but another friend of mine was much more sick (and at least 10 years older) with something else and it really took us off guard. My other friend also died about a year or so after the first.

Death never, ever ever comes when it's convienient. (NOt that it ever would be, but you get the picture.)
