What is so dangnavit interesting about it that makes it worth stting through four televised hours of it.

I mean really though. I can get the enjoyment of the game by watching the 5 minute end of the day sports recap.

So please explain what happens during the other 3 hours 55 minutes that makes this Golf such a hot sport.

Golf has been called

a good walk spoiled. I love to play it, but I do not watch it on TV. It is far to boring just to sit and watch. The challenge is when you play the game, and to stay good at it, you should play at least four times a week.

;)

You like to play pool?.....Picture golf as a large game of pool and a chess game rolled up in one........phyical skill and mental....Make one shot while setting up another........I never liked it but I learned what it was about and do appricate it now.....
Lots talk shit on it but it is very challenging..........

Ok, I have two local golf clubs in my area, if you will pay the 85${canadian}{oh thats the cheap one, The Hartland Golf Course is 115$} a round i will play 4 rounds a week as you suggested.

Not the way I play.

More like hockey on grass with smaller, more expensive sticks .

I myself would rather watch ice melt than watch it on TV....................

Not trying to talk poo-poo on it, just don't get watching it for four hours, I understand the challenge mental and physical, it just doesn't seem inclined to be a spectator sport. Thats all I was after.

I look at it like this

As already mentioned, fun to play, boring to watch. But, so is tennis. I think if someone like Anna Kournakova played golf, at least you had someone to look at for nearly 4 hrs.

It is best to join one golf club, the cost is greatly reduced that way. You can play it during the week all you want and on weekends, or you can visit other courses and play. But use your home course for the bulk of your play and practice, it is cheaper that way.

;)

I checked that price the cheap one is 1005$ for a one year member ship and your right it does reduce the per round cost to 75$

:(

the other one I never looked into its supposto be a national or provincial pro course or something like that I don't know but when they do tv gold locally its the one they use in new brunswick

Prices here vary from 1000.00 or so to 30,000.00, It all depends on the quality of the course, If you are just a beginner i would not start out on a tough Pro course, it will beat you badly. Pick a fairly easy course to join till you get the hang of it and to see if you want to keep golfing.

Golf is a fucking terrible game to watch but it's a good laugh to play especially if your with pals.

That's expensive. We have two courses here that are really nice.
Both are supported by tax money. If you live in the county fees are $18.50 + 12 cart fee for one and $19.25 + 12.95 cart fee for the other.

I like to play a smaller mountain course that's only $15 and they don't frown on you walking the course. You can also get a yearly membership to that course and one other that's included in the same package that covers all green fees for 600 a year.

Your lucky to have good County Courses WD. I have played some very nice ones in Ohio, but Indiana seems to have a shortage of County Courses.

Yeah, one was designed by Robert Trent Jones and was named one of the top 10 public courses in Ga. But the newer one is even better in my opinion. It was designed by Denis Griffiths who designed Chateau Elan, site of the Sarazen World Open Championship which is also close by. If Todd takes up golf, he could be very happy here. You can't piss without hitting a golf course or a church.

Golf courses, churches, and Waffle Houses. Three requirements for every crossroads in Georgia

I only like golf if you get to hit the ball into clowns' heads and windmills.

Yep, there is a exit on I-85 north of Atlanta with a Waffle House on each side of the interstate. But they do have good grits.
